Breakfast Protein POPSICLES! (guest post)

summer lovin' summer lovin’

Confession:

On Saturday mornings, when I was about age 7, my little brother and I used to sneak into the kitchen while Mom was sleeping and eat Fudgesicles for breakfast while we watched cartoons….OK, well, maybe we ate a few Fudgesicles…OK, OK! Yes! Between us, we finished off the box!

Shameful, right?! Well, ya know what, Moms and Dads? I say it is time to EMBRACE the breakfast popsicle. This will not only make you the coolest parent in the entire universe — it will make the kiddos happy as pie!

Seriously, imagine the look on their face when they come into the kitchen and ask “What’s for breakfast?” and you reply “Popsicles!” They probably won’t believe you at first.

That’s when you pull this glorious orange creamsicle pop out of the freezer and announce: “Voila! Breakfast is served!”

BLISS'sicles. BLISS’sicles.

Right there, in that moment, your “cool parent points” go through the roof!

But so do your “nutrition-conscious responsible parent points,” because these popsicles are packed with nutrient-dense bananas, coconut milk, and Orange Cream Lean Shake protein from GNC. The kids don’t have to know it’s good for them – they might just be too wowed by the sheer thrill of eating popsicles that early in the morning to even bother asking!

The GNC team recently sent me the Orange Cream to try out, and I love it!

Totally brings back memories of those orange creamsicle push-pops I would buy from the ice cream truck rolling through our neighborhood on Saturday afternoons! If you aren’t a big orange fan, you can just use this same recipe but swap in your kids’ favorite flavors. GNC Lean Shake makes vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, even cookies n’ cream!

You could even double down on your I AM THE COOLEST PARENT OF THE YEAR submission by serving this with a healthy pancake and then heading outside for a “Kid Play” workout.

The whole family will have so much fun, and it’s great exercise for everyone!

So try this little circuit, and enjoy your breakfast popsicles!
